The Desert Ridge Marketplace is a regional entertainment & lifestyle shopping center, which was a cornerstone of the original Desert Ridge master plan. Owned and managed by Vestar, the shopping center first opened in 2001. It had 22 million visitors in the year 2016. In 2017 it underwent a $15 million renovation. With over 100 tenants, and 1,200,000 gross leasable square feet, it is considered a “power” shopping center.
Tenants include Target, AMC 18 Theatres, Barnes & Noble, Albertsons, Ross, Old Navy, Marshalls/HomeGoods, JoAnn etc., Dave & Busters, Kohl’s and DSW Shoes. There is a total population of approximately 312,544 within the trade area of the shopping center, with an average household income of $100,784. According to traffic counts, the Loop 101/Pima Freeway gets 145,000 cars per day while Tatum Blvd. gets 48,000 cars per day.
